Wine Exploration
KYBC
Beaune Connexion
A wine merchant exploring terroirs beyond Burgundy. Authentic selection. No algorithms. No Parker scores. Just two humans who love wine.
The Story
KYBC was born from a simple but intense friendship: that of Kwame, winemaker at Domaine d'Aubigny, and Yann, restaurateur and wine merchant in Paris.
We met at the heart of a shared passion: authentic wines, living terroirs, winemakers who take risks.
Together, we decided to create a space — physical and mental — to explore beyond Burgundy. Not to deny our roots, but to enrich them. KYBC is that laboratory.
Our Philosophy
Burgundy: Our Root
Domaine d'Aubigny has produced exceptional wines since 1132. Nine centuries of terroir, craftsmanship, passion. It's our foundation. It's our pride.
Beyond: Our Curiosity
But the Alps, the Loire, Alsace, the Jura, Côte Chalonnaise... there are so many terroirs to discover. So many winemakers doing real magic.
Authenticity
No luxury marketing. No Parker scores. No grand critics. Just wines we love to drink, love to share, love to understand.
Connection
Beaune & Paris. Winemakers & Restaurateurs. Tradition & Experimentation. KYBC connects worlds that deserve to meet.
|KYBC⟩ = |TECH⟩ + |LOVE⟩
Dirac notation in quantum mechanics. KYBC is a superposition of two states: Kwame's technique (wine engineering) and Yann's poetry (restaurateur, wine merchant). One wine. Two worlds. One selection.
Wine Selections
Burgundy
Our foundation. Mercurey Premier Cru, Rully Village, Bourgogne appellations. 900 years of history in each bottle.
Explorations
Loire Valley, Alsace, Jura, Alpine regions. Winemakers we respect. Terroirs we believe in. Wines we drink at home.
The complete KYBC selection is available in the cellar of La Rose Pourpre, at Yann's restaurant in Paris, or on direct request.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Why a merchant and not a domaine?
- Domaine d'Aubigny has been producing our Burgundy wines since 1132. KYBC is our exploration merchant — we personally select the best terroirs beyond Burgundy. A domaine produces its own wines. A merchant selects with expertise. KYBC is our winemaker's perspective applied to other regions.
- What's the difference between KYBC and Domaine d'Aubigny?
- Domaine d'Aubigny: our Burgundy wines, controlled production, specific terroir (Mercurey, Rully, Bourgogne). KYBC: selection of other winemakers and regions (Alsace, Loire, Jura, Côte Chalonnaise). Domaine = root. KYBC = exploration.
- Where can I order KYBC wines?
- In the cellar of La Rose Pourpre in Beaune (during your stay). At Yann's restaurant and wine shop in Paris (rue de la Roquette, 11e) — see jusdebox.fr. On direct request to Kwame & Yann via WhatsApp or email. Full selections available in these three places.
- How do I visit the KYBC cellar at La Rose Pourpre?
- The KYBC cellar is accessible only to guests of La Rose Pourpre or La Chanoinerie. You can also visit as a group if you organize a private tasting. Book your stay on www.rosepourpre.fr or contact us for a group visit.
- Do you have natural or organic wines?
- Yes. Domaine d'Aubigny practices organic viticulture. We also regularly select winemakers in organic farming or conversion for KYBC. We seek authentic, living wines — biodiversity is a selection criterion.
- What's your selection philosophy?
- Authenticity above all. No luxury marketing, no Parker scores. Just winemakers taking risks, living terroirs, wines we love to drink. Kwame and Yann personally select each wine. Our reputation is on the line.
- Are KYBC wines high-end or accessible?
- Both. We have accessible wines (20-30€) and premium selections (60-150€+). No elitism — good wine can be affordable, expensive wine can disappoint. We seek authenticity at every price point.
